About Coaching
Coaching is a process where the coach helps the client with areas such as: organizing their lives, progressing in their careers, changing their career direction, improving relationships, improving health and wellness, as well as time, anger and stress management. The process includes:
  • setting your goals,
  • identifying your personal strengths,
  • identifying any obstacles and/or impediments,
  • finding ways to enhance your motivation and effectiveness, and
  • developing and implementing strategies to help you reach your goals and potential.

My approach is collaborative, direct, and individually tailored to each client’s unique concerns and goals. My approach also considers each client’s personal strengths and resources. Please read my Style page for more information about my approach to treatment.

What Are the Benefits?
With coaching, clients are able to set and achieve goals, overcome obstacles and lead more healthy and productive lives.   Clients improve their level of life satisfaction overall and in specific areas such as their careers, relationships, health and wellness.  They are also able to organize their lives, manage stress, communicate better and live more meaningful lives. The gains you can expect will depend on the specific nature of your situation (i.e., your issues and goals), the length of our work together and the effort you invest.
How Will Our Work Progress?
During the first meeting, we will discuss your goals and the history of your situation.  At the end of this meeting, I will provide you with an initial plan and an estimate of how long it might take to reach your stated goals. Over the next few meetings, we will gather additional information, refine the plan and begin our work to reach your goals. During these sessions we will identify specific strengths and resources we can utilize as part of our work.

The duration of our work together varies for each client.  It depends on the nature of the challenges you face and goals you set.  As mentioned above, we will discuss how long our work might take at the end of our first session. Some specific issues may require a relatively short time commitment (e.g., a few weeks). Addressing more complex issues and/or entrenched behavioral patterns will require more of a time commitment. My experience has shown that a majority of clients begin to make progress on their goals after several sessions.  I strongly encourage my clients to ask any questions they have about their work and how it is progressing.
